Monday morning travellers face slippery weather and wind-whipped snow as the workweek gets underway. Overnight, snow arrived and soon started to accumulate on the roads. However, as drier air approaches from the north, the amount of snow will gradually decrease during the morning and finally end on Monday afternoon.
Monday is designated as a Pinpoint Weather Alert Day due to the possibility of hazardous travel conditions, particularly during the morning rush hour, as blowing snow covers the roads and impairs vision.
There are numerous weather alerts that are in force. Kiowa, Bent, and Prowers counties have been placed under a blizzard warning. Denver County and Boulder are under a snow storm warning. For the counties of Otero, Pueblo, Crowley, and southern El Paso, a high wind warning is in force. Huerfano County is under a winter weather advisory.
