The focus of the documentary ‘The Elephant Whisperers’ is a South Indian couple named Bomman and Bellie and their commitment to caring for Raghu, an orphaned baby elephant. Kartiki Gonsalves’ “The Elephant Whisperers” received the Oscar for The Best Documentary Short category at the Academy Awards.
Naatu Naatu, a well-known song from the hit film RRR, received the Oscar for The Best Original Song. The singers Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava’s performance on “Naatu Naatu” made the LIVE audience groove to its upbeat music while India shone brightly at the 95th Academy Awards.
The Elephant Whisperer crew was honoured by well-known Tamil television actor Ma ka Pa Anand for winning the Best Documentary Short Film Oscar.
Rahul Sipligunj and Kaala Bhairava sang the Telugu version of MM Keeravani’s original Naatu Naatu for RRR. Chandrabose wrote the song’s lyrics. With a dance-off involving the key characters Ramaraju (Ram Charan), Bheem (NTR Jr.), and supporting part Edward, the song displays the pride of the local pulsating beats to the British officials (Edward Sonnenblick).
