ABOUT ESIC

The promulgation of Employees’ State Insurance Act, 1948(ESI Act), by the Parliament was the first major legislation on social Security for workers in independent India. It was a time when the industry was still in a nascent stage and the country was heavily dependent on an assortment of imported goods from the developed or fast developing countries. The deployment of manpower in manufacturing processes was limited to a few select industries such as jute, textile, chemicals etc. The legislation on creation and development of a fool proof multi-dimensional Social Security system, when the country’s economy was in a very fledgling state was obviously a remarkable gesture towards the socio economic amelioration of a workface though limited in number and geographic distribution. India, notwithstanding, thus, took the lead in providing organized social protection to the working class through statutory provisions.

ESIC SSO RECRUITMENT ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION

• A degree of a recognized University (Preference will be given to the graduates in Commerce/Law/Management)
• Working knowledge of computer including use of office suites and database.

EXPERIENCE DETAILS

• DESIRABLE: Three years’ service in a Government Organization or Corporation or Government Undertaking or Local Body or Scheduled Bank etc.

AGE LIMITS

• Between 21 to 27 years as on the closing date 12.04.2022.
• Upper age limit is relaxable for persons belonging to reserved categories i.e SC/ST/OBC/PWD/Ex-Servicemen and for ESIC Employees, Government Servants as under:

Candidates are selected based on the following:

• Preliminary Exam
• Mains Exam
• Computer Skill Test and
• Descriptive Test

Phase I – Preliminary Examination

ESIC SSO MAINS EXAM PATTERN

Phase II – Main Examination

Phase III – Computer Skill Test & Descriptive Test

A). Computer Skill Test (CST) – 50 Marks (30 Minutes Duration) comprising of following three parts: –

• Preparation of 02 Power Points Slides – 10 Marks
• Typing matter on MS Word with formatting – 20 Marks
• Preparation of Table on MS Excel with use of formulae – 20 Marks

B). Descriptive Paper – English Language (Letter Writing & Essay)

SALARY

• Pay Level – 7 of Pay matrix (Rs. 44,900-1,42,400) as per 7th Central Pay Commission.
• In addition to Pay they will also be eligible for DA, HRA and Transport Allowance and other allowances as per rules in force from time to time.

• SC/ST/PWD/ Departmental Candidates, Female Candidates & Ex Servicemen : Rs.250/-
• All other categories : Rs. 500/-
