Karnataka-In response to the increase in Covid Gen-1 mutation cases in the state, Medical Education Minister Dr. Sharan Prakash Patil announced that as of January 3, individuals over 60 and those with comorbidities can receive the vaccination at district hospitals.

Medical Education Minister Dr. Sharan Prakash Patil said that in view of the increase in Covid Gen-1 variant cases in the state, those above 60 years of age and those suffering from comorbidities can get vaccinated at the district hospitals from January 3. However, there is no need for people to panic, the minister said, taking precautionary measures to prevent the spread of the virus.

On Tuesday, the heads of hospitals and medical facilities under the jurisdiction of the Department of Medical Education met with the chairman of the Covid-19 Technical Advisory Committee and its members. Patil went over the state’s current state of affairs and the plans in place to handle COVID-19.
