Resurrecting for its 55th edition on ICI TÉLÉ this Sunday at 11 p.m., Bye bye builds on two record years in 2021 and 2022 (New window). Claude Legault has returned to the team after a two-year hiatus, and they will have the difficult task of wrapping up with a little humor in 2023, a year that is rather depressing in the news.

For the past eight years, Simon-Olivier Fecteau has been directing Bye Bye, a production he co-produced alongside Guillaume Lspérance. After a year marred by violence, especially the ongoing carnage of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, he counts himself lucky to be able to draw on the experience he has accumulated since 2016.That is the role of experience. He explained on Maxime Coutié’s microphone on Tout un matin that if this had been our first Bye Bye, we wouldn’t have known how to make it funny this year because there are a lot of very dramatic and depressing events.Along with Guylaine Tremblay, Sarah-Jeanne Labrosse, and Pierre-Yves Roy-Desmarais, Claude Legault will comprise the central comic core. Multiple celebrities who will make unexpected appearances will provide support for the quartet.
